Real cowhide under every glass: coasters edged in leather, with a star or with a horseshoe.

Each coaster is cut round from real cowhide, about 11 cm across, and laced all the way round with a leather cord. The short, smooth hair stays visible, and because every hide is marked differently, no two coasters are the same.

The star and the horseshoe are cut from cowhide in a second colour and finished with a fine seam. A set is made up of coasters in one pattern, in mixed hide colours.

Ideas: on the coffee table under a coffee or tea, on the dining table with the wine, on the bedside table or on your desk. A set also makes a lovely small gift, for a housewarming or just because.

Every coaster is one of a kind, so the colours and markings will differ a little from the photos.

01 Does a new sheepskin have a smell?

Sometimes a little, and only at first. It's the natural smell of wool. Hang the sheepskin in a well-ventilated place, away from direct sunlight, and the smell will disappear within a few days.

02 Does a sheepskin shed?

Hardly at all. A few loose fibres may come off in the first days – that's normal, and a quick brush will remove them easily.

03 How do I clean a sheepskin?

Most sheepskins don't need any special cleaning. Just give it a shake now and then and brush it with a wool brush to keep the wool fluffy and soft.

For stains, clean only the wool with a small amount of wool shampoo and a damp cloth. Keep the leather dry and dry the sheepskin lying flat, away from heat. We don't recommend machine washing, not even for medical sheepskins. Water soaked into the leather can make it stiff.

04 Can my dog or cat lie on it?

Of course. Pets love sheepskins. Shorter wool is the easiest to keep clean under little paws.
