New Zealand sheepskins are known for their dense, even wool – soft to the touch and lovely to sink your hand into. This one is dyed in a soft, muted shade that works just as well in a classic interior as in a modern one.

At around 60 cm wide, it's a handy size to place wherever you'd like something soft. Every skin has its own natural shape, so yours may look slightly different from the one in the photos.

Like all dyed sheepskins, it keeps its colour best away from strong, direct sunlight.

01 Does a new sheepskin have a smell?

Sometimes a little, and only at first. It's the natural smell of wool. Hang the sheepskin in a well-ventilated place, away from direct sunlight, and the smell will disappear within a few days.

02 Does a sheepskin shed?

Hardly at all. A few loose fibres may come off in the first days – that's normal, and a quick brush will remove them easily.

03 How do I clean a sheepskin?

Most sheepskins don't need any special cleaning. Just give it a shake now and then and brush it with a wool brush to keep the wool fluffy and soft.

For stains, clean only the wool with a small amount of wool shampoo and a damp cloth. Keep the leather dry and dry the sheepskin lying flat, away from heat. We don't recommend machine washing, not even for medical sheepskins. Water soaked into the leather can make it stiff.

04 Can my dog or cat lie on it?

Of course. Pets love sheepskins. Shorter wool is the easiest to keep clean under little paws.
